The Lunch Box
"The Lunchbox"
Aarav and Imran had been classmates for three years but never really talked. Aarav was quiet, always in the back of the class. Imran was loud, always surrounded by friends. They couldn’t be more different.
One day during lunch, Aarav forgot his lunchbox. He sat alone, pretending he wasn’t hungry. Imran noticed. Without a word, he walked over and placed half his sandwich on Aarav’s desk.
“No one should sit hungry,” he said, then walked back to his group.
The next day, Aarav brought two boxes—one extra full. He quietly placed it beside Imran. From that day on, they shared lunch daily.
They never said much. But over time, their silence became understanding, and their differences became balance.
Years later, at their college graduation, someone asked Imran who his best friend was.
He smiled and pointed to Aarav. “The guy who never talked much—but fed my soul.”
